Let’s Get Down (What to Bring to a Party!)
Wednesday, November 18th, 2009If you lack social properness then this guide is for you! Don’t worry people! This is made especially for you.
Have you ever been “that chick” that shows up to a social event without a gift? If you’re like me, you didn’t even consider an offering until you get to the party. How can this be?
It is crucial that when you attend a get-together such as a dinner party, housewarming, or holiday party, you show the party giver that you are thankful for the time, effort, and money that went into the party. The best, and most showoff way to arrive, is with a well thought out offering. Some people like to bring alcohol, but if things get out of control, you don’t want to be the person that broke the camel’s. Another way to go would be to bring some high end, gourmet coffee, preferably Fair Trade organic coffee. If you like the idea of bringing a beverage and wine or coffee aren’t what you have in mind, then seasonal fruit drinks from local produce stands are the next best thing. I know we’re beating this beverage gift thing to death, but you may want to consider fruit teas. Fruit teas, are a sure fire bull’s eye. Low or no caffeine, they can fit into every meal and be blended with regular teas to make delicious flavored iced tea without adding calories. Currently I’m on a raspberry tea kick.
Obviously, we’ve covered beverages, so lets move on to food. Chips and salsa are always a crowd pleaser. You’ve got salty crunch and spicy goodness. What’s not to like? Don’t just bring everything in a sack. Think artistic presentation! You can purchase a colorful, plastic tray, for very little money. It will make all the difference in the world. Keep your eye out for deals on serving dishes at stores and even yard sales. Enclose a card with a gracious “thank you for the party”.
Finally, if you don’t want to bring food or drink, then choose an item the couple, or family would enjoy all at once. A vase of of flowers, a set of handmade cards, personalized pottery, picture frame, or a set of candles, are a few relatively simple gifts that can all be purchased for less than .00. Just remember, to be yourself, and don’t let the gift giving stress you out. You can always bring a hug and a smile! Finally, don’t forget to provide a card! You do want to be noticed for your fabulous gift, don’t you?
Perhaps you’re still thinking it tough to think of a gift, then go look at the coffee gifts from Nectar of Life Coffee. You can’t go wrong with Nectar of Life. Not only are they a organic coffee roaster and artisan, but they specialize in organic Fair Trade coffee.
